Compare the sideboard you would actually order
A useful USM Haller sideboard comparison starts with a configuration, not a saving percentage. Compare the finished width, height and depth, the number of doors or drawers, and what remains open. A closed two-bay cabinet and an open shelf of similar width are not the same purchase.
Check the item price in your selected currency, then review delivery and any applicable taxes for the actual destination. Also compare how the furniture arrives and which return terms apply to that order. Klackjoy is an independent brand and is not affiliated with USM.
Before choosing: Does the finished cabinet fit the space? Does it provide the fronts and storage you need? Can you accept the quoted total and delivery estimate?
Compare current configurations
Width and depth are axis measurements; overall height includes feet or castors. Axis height is shown below.

Choose a modular sideboard by the storage task, complete outside dimensions, moving fronts and installation conditions you can verify. Klackjoy is an independent manufacturer, not USM. A familiar appearance or shared component dimension does not establish identical whole-cabinet performance. Separate a new standalone sideboard from a proposed extension to retained furniture; compare the actual components, instructions and delivered offer before ordering.
A low cabinet still needs a complete project specification
Record what the sideboard will hold, where it stands, how its fronts open and which surfaces are intended to support equipment. A turntable, file binder or dish collection has its own dimensions and mass. A low, wide shape does not establish usable capacity, loading, mounting or the suitability of an electrical device inside a closed bay.
For an extension, distinguish retained parts from a new standalone unit. Identify the maker, generation, connectors, fronts, fittings and condition before comparing a proposed replacement. Use the reconfiguration checklist, not an assumption that a familiar outline proves fit.
Materials, connectors and colors: keep the scope attached
Klackjoy’s published materials describe powder-coated steel panels, chrome-plated stainless-steel tubes and chrome-plated brass connectors. Our connector offering is 25 mm with an M8 internal thread. These identify our components, not every generation of another manufacturer’s furniture or the condition of an old fitting.
Select the actual front, panel, frame and finish available for the proposed configuration. A RAL reference, color name or screen image is not proof of a matching gloss, texture, coating or aged surface. Review the color guide and obtain an appropriate sample if matching matters. No sales ranking or unique-color claim is established here.
The stated 10-year structural warranty has its own scope and exclusions. It is not independent evidence of an identical lifetime, torsional performance, surface warranty or approval of every mixed installation.
Nominal grid versus the complete cabinet
Klackjoy publishes nominal spans of 100, 150, 175, 250, 350, 395, 500, 595 and 750 mm. They are planning inputs across the frame axes, not a promise of finished width, height or depth for every build. Check the actual selected layout, panels, fronts, feet and other components.
The documented single-span example adds the node extent: a 350 mm nominal span gives a 375 mm frame extent. Do not apply that example as a universal complete-cabinet formula or assume two rows give a suitable working height. Matching a grid alone does not establish a retained-front interface or whole-assembly fit.
How do I choose a sideboard for a narrow hallway or alcove?
Start with the usable space, not a tube length. Measure the clear width, depth and height where the unit will stand. Note skirting boards, sockets, radiators, door movement and the route used to bring the parts into the room. A hallway also needs usable passage space after the furniture is placed; do not assume that a cabinet fitting inside a rectangle makes the passage suitable.
Klackjoy's standard nominal tube options are 100, 150, 175, 250, 350, 395, 500, 595 and 750 mm. These are planning inputs, not a promise that a finished cabinet has that exact depth. The documented single-axis frame example adds the 25 mm node diameter to the nominal span: a 350 mm nominal span gives 375 mm for that frame example. Doors, drawers, feet and other selected parts still need to be checked against the complete configuration; do not treat that example as a universal finished-depth formula.
Choose the front type as well as the frame. An open compartment and a compartment with a moving front have different access requirements. Check the movement of the selected door or drawer against the actual room and the intended items, rather than assuming every front has the same opening clearance.
Use this checklist before ordering:
| Check | What to record |
|---|---|
| Available space | Clear width, depth and height after fixed obstructions |
| Access and passage | Door movement, walking route and delivery access |
| Selected layout | Compartments, front types and hardware |
| Planned overall size | The complete configuration, not just one tube value |
| Installation review | Applicable instructions and any unresolved anchoring requirements |
Use the existing 3D configurator to explore a layout and review its planned dimensions. Compare that plan with your measurements, then confirm installation and anchoring requirements against the instructions for the selected configuration. The editor is a planning aid here, not a certification of anti-tip safety or a guarantee that wall fixing is unnecessary. If the required installation information is missing, resolve it before ordering.
Check sockets, hinges and the complete movement envelope
A socket location is not the same as the space needed by a connected plug. Record the plug body's projection, cable route, manufacturer-specified bend requirements and room to connect, disconnect and service it. Check that the cabinet and selected front do not press against a plug or force a cable bend. Keep required access and any applicable electrical instructions; do not copy a universal stand-off distance from another installation.
For a drop-down front, check its complete intended travel and projection into the remaining walkway, including its actual support fittings and instructions. For a drawer, check full extension, handle and hand access against adjacent walls and furniture, not only the closed cabinet's footprint. A front fitting in the closed position does not establish usable passage when open.
Identify the actual supplied hinge position and opening direction. Do not assume a door can be reversed or that another generation uses the same fittings. Compare its movement with an alcove return, skirting, socket and connected plug; if the required direction or clearance is not documented, resolve it with the supplier before ordering.
For the separate depth measurements, use the outside, usable and operational dimensions guide. Record room clearance, installed cabinet depth and usable internal depth separately; a shallow nominal frame is not proof that a stored item, drawer or connected appliance fits.
Price comparison: compare the same specification and delivered cost
Compare the sideboard you would actually order, rather than applying a fixed saving to an entire range. Record the layout, overall dimensions, panels, doors or drawers, finish and included hardware for each option. Matching a nominal dimension alone does not establish an equivalent specification.
For each quote, record the source, access date, currency and delivery destination. Check whether tax, duties, delivery and any assembly charges are included. Compare the resulting delivered totals only when those details are available on the same basis; otherwise show the missing items instead of a savings percentage.
A historical component-price model or a pair of list prices can help explain a pricing approach, but it does not establish the current delivered-price difference for your sideboard. Review the current configuration and quote before ordering. Klackjoy is an independent brand and is not affiliated with USM.
Compare the supplier’s actual system and scope
For another supplier, distinguish complete furniture from parts offered for a retained system. Our Konektra comparison separates Classic/Urban frame guidance from a blanket fit claim. Flexcube’s own FAQ says its elements and USM elements cannot be combined in one unit; that is manufacturer guidance, not our test of every custom part. Treat CN3 as its own series and check the exact product. No universal supplier ranking, fixed saving or identical finish is established.
Review the actual configuration before ordering
Use the 3D configurator to record the selected layout, available fronts and materials, component list and item price. Check structure and selection feedback, then compare the planned outside dimensions and operational envelope with the room. A rendering is not a manufacturing, installation, anti-tip or load certificate for an unknown assembly.
Confirm the appropriate instructions, required fittings, supply, tools and unresolved specifications before ordering. For retained parts, obtain confirmation for the actual combination rather than matching only a tube value or color. Compare an extension with a separate new unit, including service, required labor and delivered cost; do not assume all old parts can stay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Klackjoy sideboard really compatible with existing USM Haller?
Klackjoy publishes a 25 mm brass connector with an M8 internal thread and nine nominal spans, but these are identification facts, not a certificate for every retained USM generation, front or fitting. For an extension, identify the actual retained and replacement components and obtain confirmation and matched instructions before payment or physical work. Klackjoy is independent and not affiliated with USM.
How much cheaper is a compatible sideboard?
There is no single saving established here for every sideboard. Compare the same layout, overall dimensions, panels, fronts and hardware using dated quotes in the same currency for the same delivery destination. Include tax, duties, delivery and any assembly charges where applicable. If those details are missing, compare the listed specifications and identify the missing costs rather than quoting a percentage.
What are the dimensions of a typical USM Haller sideboard?
A sideboard's dimensions depend on its layout and selected components. Standard nominal tube options range from 100 to 750 mm, but a tube value is not the complete cabinet's finished depth. For the documented single-span frame example, a 350 mm nominal span gives 375 mm including the node extent. Review the full configuration's planned overall dimensions and the movement of any selected fronts, then compare them with your available space and installation instructions.
What material are the parts made of?
Klackjoy publishes powder-coated steel panels, chrome-plated stainless-steel tubes and chrome-plated brass connectors. Its connector offering is 25 mm with an M8 internal thread. Identify the selected part, material, finish and applicable instructions; a color name or RAL reference is not a guarantee of another manufacturer’s or aged part’s finish. The stated 10-year structural warranty is subject to its terms, not a blanket surface, mechanism or mixed-assembly lifetime guarantee.
Can I expand an existing USM sideboard instead of buying new?
A confirmed retained-parts extension may be an option instead of a separate unit. First identify the retained system, generation, condition and fittings, then confirm the actual replacement parts, instructions and complete proposed build. Matching a nominal span or color alone is not enough. Compare the full project and delivered offer before deciding; Klackjoy is an independent manufacturer.
