How to Clean & Care for USM Haller: The Complete Powder-Coated Furniture Guide

USM's Cleaning and care booklet, page 4, gives these instructions for Haller and table surfaces:

• Use a soft cloth for dry cleaning.
• For wet cleaning, use a soft cloth or chamois dampened with water and wrung out.
• For heavier dirt, use a diluted neutral cleaning fluid; the document specifies pH below 9.
• Do not leave the table surface damp for a long time. Avoid abrasive agents and sponges, abrasive microfiber cloths, and solvents.

The word neutral matters: the pH condition is not permission to use any acidic product below that number. Nor does the booklet say every microfiber cloth is suitable. Follow the current product instructions rather than choosing a cleaner by a marketing label alone.

Glass cleaner: keep the product heading attached

Do not detach that example from its heading and turn it into a universal recommendation for powder-coated steel or plated connectors. A claim such as “ammonia-free” does not by itself establish the whole formulation's suitability. If the surface or cleaner is unidentified, obtain the appropriate manufacturer's guidance before application.

Fingerprints, spills and coated versus chrome parts

For an original USM surface covered by the booklet, start with its stated gentle method rather than polishing harder. For another manufacturer's panel or tube, check that component's instructions first. Keep liquids away from openings and fittings when cleaning as directed; do not turn a general care article into permission to soak joints or mechanisms.

After a spill, identify the liquid and material, follow the relevant care instructions and avoid leaving an affected surface wet.
